Internet Filtering

The internet can be a great tool, or a big problem depending on how it is used. To help avoid the downfalls we can configure filters on your internet connection to help combat these problems.

These filters are capable of blocking a wide variety of options, and can be customised to filter only those services you wish.

For the home

There are applications that can help assist parents to keep their children safe. It is important to know that there is no internet filter or program that you can install on your home computer to keep your children 100% safe. It is the responsibility of every parent to monitor, educate and guide their children through the use of what is acceptable and non acceptable use of the internet.
However, a filter can certainly go a long way in helping parents to keep their children safe.

For the Business

There are many things on the internet that can be a distraction to staff including social sites (such as facebook, myspace, etc), shopping sites (including ebay, etc) and so forth.

There can also be sites that can take up a lot of your bandwidth and monthly download limits that are of no benefit to your business such as online radio.

There can also be things on the internet that your staff can access that are illegal, or could implicate your business with legal ramifications.

Lastly, there are sites that can also introduce malware software to your business computer that can cause all sorts of problems for the day to day computer operations of your business.

There are many ways that you can help protect your business from such software (such as decent antivirus software, having regular computer ‘check ups’, and having security permissions locked down on computers), but every bit of assistance helps. In addition these options don’t necessarily stop your staff from being distracted by various online content during work time such as facebook, etc.

A filter in the workplace can help block the more distracting and troubling sites from being accessed from your internet connection. This can help with staff productivity, as well as help to keep your systems clean.
